Douglas C. Hansen founded the company as Airbag Service in January of 1992. Douglas says, “We have spent many years gathering information, seeking out training and building a business system to support the need for a quality airbag repair and interior technology service at a competitive price. We are involved with many organizations in the industry and have established the network required to maintain our high standards. We have developed our own licensed software, TechPilot™, which aids in the consistency of repair work.” Doug’s background includes the position of Senior Project Engineer for Rocket Research Company based in Redmond, Washington. The aerospace firm specializes in rocket thrusters and other types of explosive power devices. “Our task was to develop airbag inflators for major automotive manufacturers. We did development work on all aspects of the airbag systems, including inflators, module structures, propellants, filters, bag materials and even the bag folding and venting techniques. Rocket Research Company also supports the crash dummy sled testing series to validate engineering designs,” says Douglas.
Douglas founded Airbag Service with the knowledge that airbags do require special service requirements, responsible handling and attention to technical detail to ensure a proper operating Safety System. Now the Airbag Service system has been expanded and renamed TechZone that supports the repairs and replacements of everything inside the cockpit of a vehicle.
